Notice anything different around here? Yeah, my last design didn’t stick around too long. I’m very indecisive on certain things, and when I don’t have it exactly the way I want, I change. :) This new design is a product of my curiosity as I dove head first into html and css coding, as well as my ‘wanting something better’ mindset. I’d have to say I’m loving the process of learning blog design! Each time I make a new layout for my blog, I learn more and more. Thanks for being patient readers and rolling with the flow.
A couple of weekends ago I was asked to go on an impromptu girls trip to Busan. We had little to no agenda, and it was fun figuring out things to do on the fly! You may have read earlier, but we went to a cat cafe (yeah if you don’t know what that is I suggest you click the link provided), and also wandered over to the Temple on the Sea otherwise more formally named Yonggungsa Temple. The temple was only a $10 dollar taxi ride away from Haeundae beach which was nice. What wasn’t nice was the way the taxi driver decided to drive on the way back. He graciously granted us a few premature grey hairs as he sped down the busy city streets (NOT a highway) at 210KM. I’ve never checked my seat belt so many times in my life.
Anyway, the Yonggungsa Temple was first built in 1376 and reconstructed in 1970. It still showcases the traditional colors and styles of it’s earlier years. It does have a few modern twists such as a monk’s voice being heard humming/singing on carefully hid speakers throughout the temple, as well as electric lighting scattered about.
The day we went was overcast, but the view was still gorgeous! I’d love to go back on a sunny day to see how the sun, sky, and water would react with the vibrant colors of the temple. Sorry, that’s just my inner photographer speaking.
